Online e-tailer The Hut and Hut-owned Zavvi have been condemned for sending out copies of Halo: Reach to its customers three days ahead of its official launch date.
Some customers who pre-ordered Microsoft’s eagerly-awaited first-person shooter Halo: Reach received the game on Saturday.
The Hut also broke the release date of Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 last year, shipping the title four days before its official launch.
One forum user writing online condemned the move, stating: “Great so we could have all been selling this 10 times over this weekend but the rule abiding stores will turn people away until Tuesday, then they will probably go elsewhere tut tut and what will happen to these rule breaking stores, absolutely nothing!"
