Ever had a problem of picking up that open-world wild west number from Rockstar Games this summer?
Well according to Take Two over 6.9 million copies of the downright bloody brilliant Red Dead Redemption have been sold worldwide since it launched in May, so that might explain the struggle of picking up a copy.
It's not a surprising figure especially as the game topped the UK All Formats Chart for five weeks in a row before being toppled by the LEGO outing of Harry Potter and after just three weeks Take Two announced the game had sold over 5 million copies.
The figures were revealed at the Q3 financial report this week with Chariman of Take-Two Strauss Zelnick revealing revenues of $354.1 million USD part of which was down to the success of Red Dead Redemption.
Writing in the report Zelnick said, “At a time when the interactive entertainment industry has continued to feel the impact of an uncertain economy, the exceptional response to Red Dead Redemption shows the value of compelling content and its power to capture consumer interest. These results clearly demonstrate the Company's capacity to translate its world-class creative resources into meaningful financial performance and a solid competitive position in our industry."
For Take Two it seems like the company is ready to go from strength to strength especially with Rockstar revealing plans of four new DLC packs for Red Dead Redemption.
