Super Mario All-Stars Wii Revealed

Nintendo has revealed plans for a revival of Super Nintendo classic Super Mario All-Stars for Nintendo Wii, however before you get too excited there is one massive catch.

At the moment the game is only confirmed for a Japanese release and if the Nintendo release calendar is anything to go by will launch 21 October.

The release will celebrate 25 years of Mario's history and according to Andriasang will include a soundtrack CD with music spanning from the original Super Mario Bros. all the way through to Super Mario Galaxy 2 as well as a special book showing numerous never-before-seen development materials.

For those who never experienced Super Mario All-Stars let me explain. The SNES release contained Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels and is regarded as one of the best Mario releases ever.

We've contacted Nintendo to see whether the Wii version of Super Mario All-Stars will be receiving a Western release until we hear back lets just keep everything crossed for a release.
