Atlus, the creator of the popular Persona series and publisher of titles like Demon's Souls, Rock of Ages and Trine 2, will reportedly be absorbed by parent company Index Holdings on 1 October.
Current Atlus developments appear to be secure for now. Index Holdings has confirmed that Atlus will continue to exist as a brand and an administration post at the Atlus USA website states "Don't worry, guys. This is just some corporate organizational maneuvering and won't affect anything we do." That hopefully confirms the safety of Rock of Ages and Trine 2.
Katsura Hashino, designer on the Persona series, has apparently posted a reassuring message on the website for forthcoming "adult-oriented" horror game Catherine. Sadly, Google's translation of the relevant page isn't terribly enlightening, though it does suggest "Our development team is to continue to strive to make things ... The team is also working on another title." It also says "Stories that adults are still some things I become erotic" though.
We'll bring you any further news of how this restructuring may affect Atlus titles.
