EA has announced former SAS soldier and novelist Chris Ryan will be writing a prequel book for Medal of Honor.
“It is a real privilege to be involved in a game with such a heritage as Medal of Honor,” said Ryan who originally released the book, The One That Got Away which consisted of his accounts of the Bravo Two Zero mission.
“Combining my experience as an SAS soldier in the Gulf War with missions from the videogame itself enabled me to create an authentic and respectful account of an elite soldier fighting in Afghanistan for Medal of Honor: The Book.”
EA has yet to announce what the book's story will consist of but did confirm people would be receiving a free copy of the book if they pre-order the game from HMV. A full retail release of the book will launch at a later date.
Ryan added, “Bringing together the disciplines of literature and videogames has been a new but compelling experience for me as a writer, resulting in what is hopefully an engaging read for fans of videogames and novels alike.”
Medal of Honor sees the famous franchise receive a much needed reboot however not everyone is supporting the game with many asking for it to be banned due to the playable Taliban faction.
