In an interview with GameTrailers TV (that link should take you straight to the correct chapter,) Valve's Chet Faliszek has officially announced the new (and previously teased) L4D DLC release.
But wait, there's more. The new DLC - which will tell the full story of events leading up to L4D2's "The Passing" and be called "The Sacrifice" - has also been announced for L4D2. Astute readers will realise that this involves the first official port of the original L4D cast into L4D2, which opens up all manner of new possibilities.
Valve is taking advantage of one of those possibilities straight away by releasing a converted version of L4D's No Mercy campaign as part of the Sacrifice DLC for L4D2 (various map ports of the original campaigns have been around for a while, but this one will be officially supported.)
This also means a slightly new spin on No Mercy, as Faliszek confirms during the interview that the L4D2 version will include the special infected introduced by the sequel.
Start looking out for The Sacrifice in October.
