US publisher Microsoft has announced two new titles in the run up to this year’s Gamecom 2010 event in Germany.
Top of the pile is Age Of Empires Online, the latest title in a series that has now sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
This new title aims to offer players the chance to create a living online world that can be shared with friends and friendly rivals around the world.
Among the confirmed features is a persistent online capitol city that claims to live and grow even when you’re offline, cooperative multiplayer quests, trading and a level-based system that Microsoft say will let you progress at your own pace.
Also confirmed is a new Microsoft Flight, currently in development at Microsoft Game Studios, and is the latest flight simulator from the US giant. A video trailer for this title has just been released.
“Today, we’re bringing powerful, inventive gaming experiences to the Windows-based PC,” said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios. “Over the years, our PC heritage captured the hearts and minds of millions of players. Reinventing these iconic franchises with social, shared experiences at their core marks the beginning of our return to PC gaming in bold new ways.”
