Rumours are circulating that APB developer Realtime Worlds is making massive staff cuts.
A source has reportedly told VG247 "The MyWorld team has been completely laid off. As many as 60 may have gone, but there's a rumour they may be trying to sell the team as a smaller entity."
Project MyWorld was announced a few short weeks ago, and it appears to be a game based around building and social networking.
A comment on the story (which appears to have since been deleted) contained even worse tidings, claiming that a "large proportion" of the Realtime Worlds workforce has been put on gardening leave, with APB's staff being reduced to just enough to keep the game running with a few "general updates." Our APB review noted that it was ultimately flawed, but interesting enough that updates and tweaks could've made it a lot more fun to play.
Do bear in mind that this all remains unconfirmed, so don't go leaping from the rooftops just yet. We'll update when we hear more.
