EA has stated it doesn’t expect to topple Call Of Duty: Black Ops or Halo: Reach with the new Medal of Honor.
“I don’t expect to topple either Halo or Call of Duty this year,” explained EA CEO John Riccitello last night at the company’s Q1 financial conference call.
He did believe though after the re-boot of the Medal Of Honor franchise EA has a chance of mounting a challenge for leadership.
“I think we’ve got a shot at getting back into a leadership position over the next couple years. Just watch this space on news we’ll bring you on future titles in 2011 and beyond.”
“Between Battlefield and Medal of Honor, we’re going to see a substantial increase in our share against the FPS sector in 2010 compared to years past,” explained Riccitello.
In 2011 EA has the recently announced Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, and also the new title from former Call of Duty gurus Respawn Entertainment rumoured to be a Halo killer.
Sounds like with all of these AAA shooters on the way EA very well could be mounting a challenge as the FPS leader in 2011.
