Specialist digital download market analysts Forecasting & Analyzing Digital Entertainment (FADE) has revealed Microsoft has earned $46 million USD so far in the first half of 2010.
Overall at the end of June the XBLA market grew 36% compared to the same time last year. FADE reports the turning point was in March when the releases of Toy Soldiers and Perfect Dark occurred both bringing in over $2 million USD.
March saw a 41% year-over-year increase in revenues and the trend continued all the way until June. The “Inventory Blowout” promotion which saw over 20 titles all discounted also helped for larger sale numbers throughout XBLA.
FADE states some of the titles involved in the “Inventory Blowout” saw sale increases ranging anywhere from 50% to 200%.
By the end of the year FADE predicts Microsoft will earn an estimated $130 million USD through XBLA due to not only the Summer of Arcade promotion but also the new hardware such as the Xbox 360 Slim and the imminent release of Kinect.
