Jackson-esque Character Moonwalks Out Of Plants Vs Zombies

PopCap Games has taken steps to remove a somewhat familiar looking zombie from its iPhone version of Plants Vs Zombies, and all forthcoming versions of the title.

Sadly, the Thriller-like 'Dancing Zombie' bore too much of a resemblance to a certain dead pop star for some people's liking. Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, PopCap explained the reasons for the change: "The Estate of Michael Jackson objected to our use of the 'dancing zombie' in Plants vs Zombies."

As a result, PopCap has decided "to retire the original 'dancing zombie' and replace it with a different 'dancing zombie' character for future builds of Plants vs Zombies on all platforms." An update to the iPhone 4 release has already erased the offending animation (and temporarily broken the game - though PopCap say a fix is coming soon.)

The recently-announced XBLA edition will also be affected by these changes.
