Sid Shuman, senior social media specialist at PlayStation has confirmed that the PlayStation Move controls will only support the Gold Edition of Resident Evil 5.
The news was revealed over on the US PlayStation Blog with Shuman detail how Resi Evil 5 will handle with the motion controller.
“If you already own a copy of Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition for your PS3, you’ll be able to download a free patch close to the launch of the PlayStation Move (September 19th in North America) to enable the new motion-control scheme,“ he confirmed.
Shuman then revealed the news, “This will only work with RE5 copies labelled “Gold Edition” — the original version of RE5 won’t be receiving the patch, for technical reasons.”
After numerous comments from the community on whether the standard version would get an update Shuman said he very much doubted it.
“From what I was told, the issue here is technical in nature. The early versions and later G.E. versions have some pretty different code, with the G.E. being developed with future support for Move in mind.”
So for those of you who has purchased the original as well as all the additional content looks like you wont be using the upcoming PlayStation Move to control Chris Redfield against the oncoming zombie horde.
