Orange.co.uk Pulls Early Starcraft II Review

The ever-alert GJAIF brings news of dishonest reviewing over at Orange.co.uk.

As we reported earlier, Starcraft II launches around the world today and Activision-Blizzard's Battle.net servers are twinkling into life to allow players access to the game. The press have also had to wait to play the title, with no pre-launch access (aside from the beta) possible.

Strange, then, that Kirsten Kearney over at Orange.co.uk felt able to give Starcraft II an 8/10 before being able to play the finished title, or any of the single player campaign. At absolute best Kearney was basing this review on beta access to the multiplayer component. Given the paucity of information contained within, however, it seems likely that even this was not the case.

Granted, the multinational telecommunications company isn't exactly known for its quality games reviews, but it takes a special publication to host a critical write-up of a game whose servers are not even switched on yet. The review is now listed on Orange's site as "temporarily removed."
