Although it was widely reported that Activision Blizzard had spent $100 million USD developing the forthcoming Starcraft II, the Wall Street Journal has today issued a correction to its original story.
In the publication's "Corrections and Amplifications" section, the WSJ says "A July 16 Technology article about the "Starcraft" sequel incorrectly said the company spent more than $100 million to develop the game; that figure referred to its "World of Warcraft" game."
The correction also states "Activision Blizzard Inc. hasn't disclosed development costs for its "Starcraft II" videogame," leaving the actual figure once again unclear.
