2K To Utilise Steamworks For Mafia II And Civ V

2K Games has announced it'll be using Steamworks' set of developer tools for Mafia II and Civ V, meaning you might only be able to pick it up on Steam.

Other digital distributors, such as Direct2Drive, have in the past refused to sell Steamwork titles because of the link between the game and the updates, DLC, achievements and the like.

If you do decide to go for it, however, then you might be interested to know that 2K also announced it'll be releasing the Digital Deluxe Edition of Mafia II, available to pre-order now on Steam and "select retailers", offering extra in-game cars and suits, as well as a digital art book, orchestral soundtrack and a digital map of Empire Bay. All this will set you back is £40 GBP on Steam.

Nothing more has been announced for Civ V. Digital Deluxe Edition for Civ V ideas? We're taking them now...
