Relic is now taking applicants for the closed beta for the free-to-play Company of Heroes Online.
The multiplayer variant of the hugely successful World War 2 strategy game is planning for an autumn release in North America however Relic is now looking for a select few to beta test the game behind closed doors.
North Americans can signal their interest in taking part by signing up here. However Relic only has “a limited number of keys to go around” but the developer has promised to try and expand the beta testing in the future to offer even more opportunities.
Company of Heroes Online wil be free-to-play and features you taking control a commander, as you progress and win more battles you will be able to unlock extra units, elite forces and also special upgrades to turn the tide of the war in your favour. The game will also feature micro-transactions allowing you to purchase commander upgrades using real-life cash.
There is still no news on whether Europe will be receiving a free-to-play version of Company of Heroes.
