Peter Molyneux has been speaking at the Develop Conference today, and outlined a previously unreported feature of Fable III - promises.
This a somewhat meta-announcement, as Molyneux has a bit of a history with games and promises himself. Regular listeners to the IncGamers podcast will know that we lovingly refer to this as Molyneux's "trail of broken dreams."
Apparently, players in Fable III will be able to make various promises to NPCs in order to secure support for your eventual revolution. These promises, such as to build a school, distribute money or make Black & White a good game (... wait,) can then either be followed through or completely ignored once the player is King or Queen of the realm.
Naturally, people won't be impressed if you go back on your word, leaving the country annoyed and frustrated. It seems Molyneux is really channelling some "write what you know" stuff with this one.
