2K Games has announced Mafia 2 will be playable in 3D on the PC but not on the Xbox 360 or PS3.
Producer Alex Cox revealed the news to CVG stating the technology “came too late” to be implemented into Mafia II.
"The 3D for Mafia 2 works extremely well. nVidia have told us that it's a particularly successful product," said Cox
He also confirmed the 1950’s open-world gangster game will not support Kinect or PlayStation Move.
2K hasn’t ruled out these features though with Czech 2K representative Janek Kolar hinting that the developer may “be able to provide an upgrade” in the future via a patch or re-released version of the game.
Kolar said the only way this update could happen was if there was enough demand throughout the community.

Mafia II will launch on 27 Aug 2010 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
