Dante's Inferno 2 In Development?

It looks like Visceral Games is developing Dante’s Inferno 2 according to a job listing for the company.

EA listed the job for the developer saying it was looking for a lead level designer for a “sequel to a major new IP.”

From the looks of things after E3 Visceral Games is well into development for Dead Space 2 so it would make sense for the developer to start looking to create Dante’s Inferno 2.

Meanwhile the listing on the Gamasutra states the game will be coming out on Xbox 360 and PS3, the two systems the first Dante’s Inferno launched on.

Another line from the job listing suggests a Dante’s Inferno 2 by mentioning the same gameplay mechanics which featured in the original.

“The game sequel will set new quality standards and make the franchise the world-leader in the action/melee-combat genre.”

Lets hope so because the first Dante’s Inferno failed to really impress us here in the IncGamers office.

However we could be way off course with executive producer Jonathan Knight stating there was “no plans” for a sequel to Dante’s Inferno back in February.
