Nintendo Doesn't Want 3DS To Be "Kiddie Platform"

THQ's Danny Bilson has revealed Nintendo wanted Saints Row on the 3DS to create a "balanced portfolio" of games.

In an interview with Industry Gamers, Bilson revealed Nintendo's plans for the 3DS stating the company "don't want it to feel like a kiddie platform."

The plan for Nintendo is to make the 3DS appeal to everyone and with this in mind the handheld's developer made it clear to Bilson "they really wanted Saints Row on it."

Bilson revealed that THQ was already working on it before it was asked but the game was designed for Xbox LIVE to help promote the upcoming Saints Row 3.

"The interesting thing about the game is we were already making it. We were already making it as our Xbox Live game and in 3D also. It's designed for 3D already," explained Bilson.

Finally Bilson believed the game will sell well "especially if Nintendo is going to go mature and really do a big mature campaign on it."

Not much is known about Saints Row 3 with it expected to be launched before mid 2012.
