New XCOM Images From E3

2K Games has released five more images from its somewhat controversial 'reimagining' of the X-Com franchise.

Aside from removing the hyphen from the series, it appears that 2K has decided to change the original title's gameplay from turn-based strategy to an FPS, switched the time period to the 1950s, altered player control from a squad of soldiers to a lone FBI agent, removed all recognisable X-Com creatures from the series and replaced the aliens with blobs.

Thanks to the company's baffling decision to drip-feed information about the title, that's about all we know for sure. There may be many more details to come which paint a brighter picture, but we're not being told them at present.

Here are the screens, complete with wonky-looking tree models.
