Bioware Talks Motion Controllers

Bioware has urged the upcoming Project Natal and PlayStation Move to not fall into the trap of party games and "evolve" gaming.

Speaking to IndustryGamers, Greg Zeschuk President of Bioware hinted the company was looking at ways for Mass Effect 3 to utilise the motion controller.

"I personally want to see it evolve beyond the party game...it's going to be a challenge for us to get over them," said Zeschuk.

Mass Effect 2He then went onto talk about Mass Effect possibly using the motion controller with the camera being able to recognise different actions to change the direction a conversation goes.

"One interesting thing is to imagine Mass Effect...and you could actually pull your finger and pretend you're shooting the guy for the renegade action."

Could we really be seeing motion support in the final Mass Effect game of the trilogy? Or is it just purely wishful thinking?

Ray Muzkya CEO of Bioware believes it's all about finding a way of removing the already tried and tested ways of controlling games without creating new problems.

"The challenge is finding ways to remove those barriers that doesn't create new barriers like having your arms get tired from waving the controller around, things like that."

He then summed up the concept as being "an interesting challenge."

Expect the final details regarding Project Natal and PlayStation Move to be unveiled next week at E3. IncGamers is off to LA all of next week so come back for all the news as it's unveiled.
