Blizzard Recession-Proof?

While other publishers re-schedule launch dates to account for the recession, Blizzard does the opposite, and simply releases a game "as soon as [it] realistically can."

General ScreenshotTalking to Frank Pearce, VP of game design, IncGamers.com has learned that Blizzard is not fazed by the economic climate.

"Other publishers' schedules and the state of the economy really don't impact our release dates," he told us.

"We feel like if we have a great game, we should get it into the hands of our fans as soon as we realistically can," Pearce continued.

"Our products have such long life cycles that if someone's not thinking about buying our games when we launch, maybe they'll buy them six months from launch, or a year from launch, or two years from launch."

We followed up by asking if the recession had any impact on Blizzard's release schedule at all. The answer? "None at all."

As well as our full StarCraft II Single Player Preview, we will shortly release the full interview with Frank, so stay tuned!
