Utterly splendid space combat simulator I-War has hit GOG.

Better known in certain territories as Independence War, this is the full Deluxe Edition containing both the game itself and the Defiance expansion pack, for a mere $5.99 USD.

I-War sets you up as a commander in the Commonwealth Navy, tasked with putting a stop to the Indie rebels, with the Defiance expansion flipping things aroudn to put you in control of the Indie corvette Spartacus.

I-War had a twisting story, multiple endings, and remains one of the few games to try to create reasonably accurate space combat. Inertia plays a massive role, and for once you're commanding a rather large corvette rather than a nippy fighter, so rushing headlong into combat is a surefire way to get yourself killed. If that sounds interesting, it's likely worth a punt at $5.99 USD.
