Red Steel 2's creative director Jason Vandenberghe has told Official Nintendo Magazine that another Red Steel game could happen, if there's an audience for it.
"Hopefully we'll roll into the next project and start building something even cooler than what we've accomplished with this game," said Vandenberghe, talking about what's next for the Red Steel 2 team, "but first we need to understand if we have even have an audience."
"How many people want to play a game where you stand up and wave your arm vigourously?" he asked, rhetorically. "We think the answer is 'a lot.' But some cold, hard facts never hurt the situation when pitching the next project."
The recent Ubisoft financial earnings call noted that Red Steel 2 "received very good reviews and whose performance was in line with recently revised forecasts." Depending on how those forecasts were revised, it seems Ubisoft's happy enough with Red Steel 2, so a sequel may not be out of the realm of possibility.
