Mass Effect 2 Patched, Mineral Scanning "Optimised"

Mass Effect 2 has been patched on the Xbox 360, with the primary fix being an optimisation for mineral scanning.

A post on the BioWare forums from indicates that the patch for Mass Effect 2's 360 version has just gone live, with a PC version "in the works."

Hit the jump for the patch notes.

  • Mass Effect 2Scanning for minerals has been optimised
  • Fixed an issue with marking all entries as viewed in Journal
  • Fixed an issue relating to text and the menu screen
  • Fixed an issue relating to players starting a new game and loading a save
  • Fixed multiple issues when loading a save containing DLC when DLC isn't present
  • Fixed an issue with ammo flashing when it can't be picked up
  • Fixed an issue with crosshairs
  • Fixed an issue with Grunt's Fortification power
  • Fixed an issue with enemies and cover
  • Fixed an issue where players could receive additional talent points
  • Fixed an issue where squad members could overwrite ammo powers the player had assigned them

We're particularly pleased about the ammo power fix and the mineral optimisation. The former was a minor issue we've noticed, and mineral scanning was one of the very, very few things that the jaw-droppingly good Mass Effect 2 didn't do so well.

There's a new DLC pack for Mass Effect 2 coming in June. We'll have loads more for you on it soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
