Champions Online: Upcoming New Features

Champions OnlineA Q&A held by the developers of Champions Online has revealed several new features that are in the works.

The design team, which included Shannon Posniewski the game's executive producer, answered a selection of questions from the community about the game that included queries about the future of Champions, as well as certain current issues.

Among the facts to emerge was news that there are more features for supergroups on the way, including an event calendar and a recruitment tool. Players will also be glad to hear that there are more emotes in the pipeline.

The instance difficulty slider, which recently arrived in Cryptic's other MMO Star Trek Online, will also be introduced to Champions. At first, players will only be able to use this feature in the Serpent Lantern Update, but Cryptic plans to revisit older instances and add it there as well. The slider will be “set on an individual or team basis and increases the level of enemies in any instanced mission based on the difficulty increase. The tougher enemies in turn drop better quality gear drops.”

Players will also be excited to learn that Andrith and Mandragalore will be reviewed at some point in the future, but there's no set schedule for that yet. Finally, the devs admitted that the Nemesis system is something they would like to update or expand. They have plans, but there's no solid news just yet.
