Fable III May Get PC Release

A copy of what is supposedly the final Fable III cover art has been obtained by MCV UK, and it appears to confirm a PC version of the forthcoming Lionhead title.

The banner across the top of the box clearly reads "Only on Xbox 360 & Windows," which looks like a bit of a give-away to us.

Of course, the box art may not be final. Or a careless artist may have used the wrong layer in photoshop. However, it's the strongest indication yet that the series will be returning to the PC after Fable II stubbornly remained an Xbox 360 exclusive.

A Microsoft representative has been quoted as saying that "no official announcements" have been made regarding a PC version, but to "please stay tuned."

We know better than to take everything said by Peter Molyneux as the complete truth, but it's worth noting that he has stated "I would love to see the Fable franchise on the PC."

Maybe wishes do come true, Peter.
