Icarus Studio, the makers of post apocalyptic MMO Fallen Earth, has announced the loss of 45 per cent of its workforce after a "restructuring" exercise.
The studio, previously host to around 110 employes, and now down to just 28, confirmed the studio will remain open and that development for an upcoming patch for Fallen Earth: Blood Sports will still go ahead as scheduled.
"The game will remain unaffected, as servers are up and GMs as well as customer support are continuing to service players," the studio said in a statement to Kotaku.
The cuts were announced on Friday, after Icarus Studio CEO, James Hettinger warned that there would be restructuring effective immediately.
"While this is a challenging step for us," said Hettinger, "the steps were taken to maintain the growth, continued development and profitability of Fallen Earth."
