APB Dated, Payment Model Detailed

An update on Realtime Worlds' APB FAQ has let slip the date and pricing structure of the game.

The crime MMO, which sees Criminals taking on Enforcers, will hit PC on 29 June in North America with a European release to follow on 2nd July. That said, it's the payment model that we're really impressed by.

APB - All Points BulletinWhen you buy the game, you'll get unlimited access to the game's social districts - which allow you to customise your character, socialise, and trade - as well as 50 hours playtime on the "action" servers.

Once that's used up, you've got options. You can either go the standard MMO route of purchasing a 30-day subscription for £7.99 GBP/€8.99 EUR/$9.99 USD (with 90-day and 180-day subs available, complete with discounts), or you can buy in terms of hours.

20 hours of gameplay time on the action servers will cost you £5.59 GBP/€6.29 EUR/$6.99 USD, you see, so if you're the sort of person who can't devote 12 hours a night to an MMO, or you're going to play more casually, this option will likely appeal. Better still, anything you stick up on the game's marketplace can be sold there for RTW points - which you can either convert to in-game cash, or into extra gametime.

If that's not an incentive to get stuck in to playing with customisations and the like, we don't know what is.

We're hoping to bring you more on APB soon. Stay tuned.
