Red Dead Redemption Rated M By ESRB

Red Dead Redemption has been rated M by the ESRB.

As ever, this means it's time for a round-up of all the sordid details we can drag out of the certification and oh, but we've got some for you.

Red Dead RedemptionMinor spoilers ahead. You have been warned.

Expect blood, intense violence, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and use of drugs, for starters. Getting into the details, blasting people will result in sprays of blood, with headshots and knife attacks causing "much larger sprays," and there's a sequence with "a bloodied and mutilated corpse" that can be seen "hanging from the rafters of a barn."

That's the blood and violence. In terms of drug-related content, there are missions involving delivering drugs (opium is specifically mentioned) as well as a sequence involving one character "injecting himself with a syringe filled with cocaine."

In terms of language, they've got all the really good swears in, although we have yet to see whether the combinations will be as good or as inventive as, say, ******* melon ******* **** ********** housing benefits. We have high hopes: this is Rockstar, after all.

Then, finally, there's the sex and nudity, which is what we both know you were really interested in from the beginning. Expect a "brief instance of female nudity" as well as "a scene in which two characters have sex on a table."

We're really looking forward to Red Dead Redemption. Have a look at our hands-on to see why.
