Microsoft has announced the live action prequel series for Alan Wake will debut next Friday.

The six part Bright Falls series, revealed yesterday, will commence with a double episode airing first on Xbox LIVE on 30 Alan WakeApril and on BrightFalls.com on 4 May. New episodes will follow on 8 May and 14 May, with the final two episodes serving up a “shocking conclusion” on 18 May.

The live action series, likened to 90s creep-a-thon Twin Peaks by Microsoft, was shot on location in Oregon and directed by award-winning short film-maker Philip Zan. Bright Falls also features some stars of the American small screen, like Damages' Tom Noonan and True Blood's Cooper Huckabee.
