Runes Of Magic Suspends Diamond Trading

Frogster has announced that during the next maintenance period for its MMO Runes of Magic, the ability to put Diamonds up for sale on the auction house will be removed.

Players purchase Diamonds with real life cash, then use them in-game to buy items. Currently, Diamonds can be traded for the in-game currency, gold, and vice-versa, making the resource a prime target for gold sellers.

A notice was put up on the official RoM site, explaining the reasons behind the removal of Diamonds from the auction house:

“We are taking this action in light of the dramatic increase in the number of gold sellers recently. This is a necessary step to protect you, our true community of players.”

However, Frogster stressed that this is a temporary block and the activity will resume once it is certain that the trading of Diamonds and gold between players is safe once again.

As an additional security step, the ability to send gold in the mail has also been temporarily deactivated, as has sending items by C.O.D.
