Warhammer Online Players Still Owed Hundreds Of Dollars

Many of the Warhammer Online players hit by the billing error reported on 9 April are still seeking financial remuneration.

Mythic Entertainment's billing system made multiple incorrect charges to player bank accounts, in some cases totalling over one thousand dollars. Ten days after these charges began to show up, many players are still struggling with negative accounts due to incurred overdraft fees.

Mythic has never specifically promised to refund any banking fees resulting from their billing error, stating only in a 12 April news post that "If after receiving your [billing] refund your financial institution refuses to remove any additional fees incurred as a direct result of the erroneous charges, then we may be able to provide assistance."

Posts on Warhammer Online's official support forum confirm that many players are still suffering the effects of the error.

"I am still over four hundred dollars in the negative ... I  cannot buy food, or pay my upcoming power bill. My bank will not reverse the overdraft charges until they hear from Electronic Arts," posted forum user 'IamSp00ky.'

"I have waited patiently, made no ranting posts, followed the instructions implicitly, but desperation is setting in. I am embarrassed to have had to make this post, pleading is humbling but I had no choice."

Mythic has yet to offer a comprehensive explanation for why the incorrect charges occurred. No additional compensation has been offered to players affected by the financial error.

"I've been fighting with this all week," writes forum user 'Sacheverell.' "I can't deal with the stress anymore. I've been told so many times that someone, anyone would call me back. I've been told so many times that I'd be seen to promptly. I don't know who to believe anymore."
