Star Trek Online: Open PvP Planned

During the recent Q&A from Cryptic Studios, developers have admitted that open PvP is a real possibility for Star Trek Online.

Cryptic's Jack Emmert has stated in the past that he would like to add the ability to attack players of the opposite faction in certain areas of STO, but there hasn't been much more news on the situation since then. Players quizzed devs on the matter, and the response was positive, although it doesn't seem to be something  Cryptic is working on now.

"It is something we have been planning. We would like to have open and persistent PvP ground and Space maps - a front line if you will. Currently, our priority is to focus on new instanced games. So at this point, we have no ETA on when you can expect this."
