A fix for Modern Warfare 2's Stimulus Package is coming soon.
Modern Warfare 2's Stimulus Package, which adds in five new maps, was due to go live before 5pm today. As promised, it has - but it doesn't work.
According to Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, a fix is coming soon. Hryb Tweeted "The Stimulus Package needs a Title Update and it didn't go out properly. We're pushing it out now - it won't be long."
Hryb followed this up more recently with another Tweet, seemingly to reassure readers that a fix is indeed coming: ". . . working on it. No update . . ."
We'll keep you posted as the situation develops. Here's hoping those who forked out 1200 Microsoft Points won't be disappointed for long.
Do note, by the way, that in honour of the Stimulus Package we're giving away a Modern Warfare 2 Super Elite Xbox 360. Go enter.
Update: Things appear to be moving along briskly, with another Tweet from Hryb: "If ur getting 'Can't download this update' that's us putting the latest update in place. Excuse our dust, we'll be done ASAP."
Update 2: And another Tweet, giving us a timeframe. "Right now the team (and @thevowel) is getting things in order so this will be fixed VERY soon (within hours.)"
Update 3: A clarification in the form of another Tweet, this time noting that it might well be working for most within the timeframe of "hours." It reads: "BTW: When I say hours, many of you may have it fixed before then. That's a worst case scenario. Thanks to many of your [sic] for your patience."
Update 4: And now, it seems it's fixed. Full story here.
