UK BlazBlue Champion Sought

In honour of BlazBlue's UK release, Zen United and Arc System Works have teamed up with HMV Gamerbase to hunt for a BlazBlue "Rebellion" UK champion.

The competition will kick off proper on 10 April with regional seeding tournaments held at Gamerbase Supercentres, with the top three players at each getting free entry and seeded seats at the main tournament.

BlazBlue: Calamity TriggerThe grand final tournament itself will take place in Gamerbase Manchester on 24 April, with casual matches available throughout the entire day and £3000 GBP worth of prizes on offer, including a 42" HDTV, 120GB Xbox 360 Elite consoles, BlazBlue branded Hori fightsticks, limited edition art books, T-shirts, and HMV vouchers. Winning matches will also enter players into a draw for further prizes.

Competition's going to be stiff, with Scott "Kaworu" Harrison - who took the BlazBlue #1 title at Neo Empire's 2009 Super VS Battle - present and competing. As such, you'll be happy to hear that you can get some practice in on Gamerbase pods at HMV stores around the UK from 2 April to 9 April.

BlazBlue is finally, finally due out in the UK at the end of this week. Check out the European trailer here, and have a look at the full tournament details on Neo Empire over here.
