Brink "Spiritual Successor" To Enemy Territory Games

Splash Damage's illustrious creative director and industry veteran, Richard Ham, has told IncGamers that Brink is the "spiritual successor to the early Enemy Territory games."

In an exclusive interview with IncGamers about all things Splash Damage and Brink, Ham explained that the focus was similar to that of hugely successful Enemy Territory because the game puts "the player in a situation where they've got a wide variety of missions objectives to do at any given time."

Ham went on to say that the game won't be one where "somebody will talk the ear off you and then you'll have 10 different choices,' but that it was rather it was "first and foremost an in-your-face-, balls-to-the-wall, non-stop action" experience.

"Those mission objectives are not being generated because of some pre-scripted sequence that plays out the same over and over again. They're being generated because of what your teammates are doing and what your enemies are doing. As a player, you find yourself in this situation where the sky's the limit."

But the focus of your mission will change over time and there are multiple ways to play the game and approach each objective.

"The important thing is, no matter what type of player you are, you're going to find a gameplay experience that works really well and suits you. You won't have to change your playstyle to play Brink. Brink will have something for you."

Keep your eyes open and we'll have the full interview up soon.
