Ubi Denies Steam Rift

Ubisoft has denied that a rift with Steam over DRM led to some of its recent titles being removed form the digital download service.

Following reports that Assassin's Creed 2 and Silent Hunter 5, both of which include its controversial new DRM software, are no longer available to download from Steam in the UK, the publisher issued a statement to clarify the issue.

“The games listed are available for sale in all other countries on Steam,” Ubi told Edge. 

“The fact it is not available on Steam UK has nothing to do with the DRM but is linked to a local business discussion between Ubisoft and Steam in UK.” 

Ubi's DRM requires users to have an always on internet connection to play the game, which has angered many PC gamers. DRM continues to be the hottest topic in PC gaming, find out more here.
