Valve has anounced Metro 2033 will be available to play from midnight.
In a post in the Steam forums, Valve confirmed that those who were smart enough to preload the game will be able to play from 00:00 GMT, 17:00 PST. 
In other Metro 2033 news, yesterday it was revealed that a widescreen fix is incoming and that production has already begun on DLC for the game, although those hoping for multiplayer modes will be sad to know that it's apparently “not possible.”
