How You Can Save The Silver Lining

The Silver Lining team has elaborated to IncGamers on how you can help save the King's Quest fangame.

The Silver Lining, a King's Quest fangame, suffered a major setback last month when Activision ordered the team to "cease production and take down all related materials" following eight years of work.

We got in touch with the team to find out how it happened, what was going on, whether hope remains, and what the fans can do to try and convince Activision that this game is something they should allow.

General Screenshot"The Save TSL Movement is something a group of our fans organised upon hearing news of the C&D," the TSL directors told us. "There is an online petition people can sign, a Facebook group, and a MySpace page. There's even a pre-filled out form for sending an email or physical letter to Activision."

You can check out the SaveTSL site for details on all of the above, and the team advised us that new developments will be posted on the official The Silver Lining site.

On a personal note, if you want to see professional-quality, non-commercial titles based on commercial IPs, I'd suggest doing what you can to save The Silver Lining regardless of your interest in the title. This is not a precedent I'm eager to see set.

Stay tuned for plenty more on The Silver Lining over the coming week, including our full interview with the team.
