GDC 2010: OnLive To Launch On 17 June

Onlive logoWell, “big news” about OnLive was promised yesterday and in today's GDC speech, CEO Steve Perlman revealed the service will launch in June.

In the speech at San Francisco's GDC, Perlman said the hugely-anticipated cloud gaming service will launch during this year's E3 event on 17 June. The base fee for OnLive will be $14.95 USD and it will be available in 48 US states. Games, both new and old, will cost extra and a pricing model is yet to be announced.

If you are one of the first 25 to sign up for pre-registration you'll not only be among the first to use the service, you'll also get the first three months for free.

Perlman also confirmed that big name publishers are on board, name dropping the likes of EA, Ubi, THQ and 2K. Is that the sound of the skeptics being silenced?

Let us know what you think about cloud gaming in the comments.
