Crackdown 2 To Feature Video Recording

Ruffian Games has revealed its upcoming sequel to Crackdown will allow gamers to record video clips.

In an interview with OXM, the developer confirmed the feature will not be included in the game at launch, but will likely be added as DLC post-release.

“"We wanted to get that functionality into this game," said Ruffian's Peter Connolly.

“It won't be there at release, but that doesn't mean we're not going to work on it. We want to do it properly."

Crackdown 2"That's an important part of Crackdown, the emergent gameplay. People did a lot of things in the first game that we didn't really know could be done. We've expanded it a bit now so we're expecting them to do more with it this time. But in order to do a replay system in a four-player co-op game is not a simple task, and we want to do it well."

The developer was also quick to stress that video recording was not held back from the retail release deliberately.

The reality is we're just working like crazy to get the core game out, then there's six to eight weeks of manufacturing and distribution that goes on,” said Ruffian's John Noonan.

“And then all of a sudden the team's got a little bit of bandwidth to start looking at DLC and stuff like that."

In other recent Crackdown 2 news, Ruffian told us that an entire new game mode had to be cut from the final release. Find out more here
