Rock Band Network Music Store Goes Live

The Rock Band Network has gone live.

The currently Xbox 360-exclusive Rock Band Network, which allows artists to put their own songs into Rock Band and earn money off them, has launched to the public today with over 100 songs.

While some might have feared that the majority of artists would be unheard of, there looks to be a pretty good mix, with some hugely popular bands joining in the fun. KMFDM, anyone?

So yes, there are songs from Steve Vai, KMFDM, Stroke 9, Lacuna Coil, and plenty more, including - on a more personal note - three tracks from Jonathan Coulton and one from MC Frontalot. Those who remember the bonus songs from the original Guitar Hero will also spot a few familiar faces and hear a few familiar tunes in there, as with The Slip's Even Rats and Andrew Buch's Trippolette, the latter of which was seemingly removed from the original Guitar Hero at the last moment. Bang Camaro is also mentioned as having songs up today, but there's no sign in the tracklisting. Strange.

There's more to come, apparently, with Flight of the Conchords, Smashing Pumpkins, Twin Atlantic, All That Remains, Clutch, Prong, The Gaslight Anthem and more promised.
