New Sims 3 Expansion Announced

Electronic Arts has announced The Sims 3: Ambitions.

Ambitions is a new Sims expansion which lets players take direct control of their Sims while at work, which will apparently have an impact on the neighbourhood.

Examples given include diving into infernos as a firefighter or  making house calls as a doctor or testing experimental medicine on patients; convincing sources to give up information as an investigator, or beating the crap out of them instead.

There will also be a host of new jobs including ghost hunter, inventor, sculptor, and investigator, as well as a stylist career that leverages a new tattoo system to let you further abuse your neighbours and the ability to become an architect and change the neighbourhood around you.

Sounds awesome, to us. I've noted in the past that each Sims game generally has one "must buy" expansion that dramatically adds to the game, and it looks like this might just be the one for the utterly brilliant The Sims 3.

Screens of the Ghost Hunter and Inventor jobs follow. The Sims 3: Ambitions is due out in June 2010.
