Cryptic Wants To Open Up Star Trek Online Ships

Star Trek OnlineWhile speaking to IncGamers, Cryptic Studios executive producer Craig Zinkievich told us that developers want to allow Star Trek Online players to explore their own ships.

Currently, player's on-screen characters are free to roam space stations and remote planets, but their own ships are out of bounds. We asked Zinkievich if captains might be able to explore their own vessels one day, perhaps chill out in Ten Forward, have an adventure in the Holodeck, or take a nap in their own quarters in between battling Klingons or fighting off the Borg.

“Anything we can do to make the game feel even more like Star Trek is something we want to do. So, definitely, we want to give people more of their ship.” he replied. “This is one of those things we want to get perfect before introducing it to players, though” he added, “it’s going to be an undertaking”.

Judging by the amount of times we've seen this request from STO players, we think Cryptic should crank it up to Warp 9 and get these plans in action.

Check out our review of STO's early levels here.
