Heavy Rain Getting Motion Controller Support?

Quantic Dream's David Cage has hinted that Heavy Rain may in some way support Sony's forthcoming motion controller.

CVG spotted a Q&A with the Heavy Rain director on Norwegian site Dagbladet, in which Cage hinted that something regarding motion controls will be announced in the next few weeks.

According to Cage, motion control was something that Quantic Dream "initially considered for Heavy Rain."

Heavy Rain"The very first version of the game design was based on motion control, but it was not feasible at the time," elaborated Cage. "But all the controls of the final version of Heavy Rain is [sic] still based on motion."

"I have a lot of interest in Sony's motion device and there is a good chance that we [sic] announce something about it in the coming weeks..." he concluded, teasingly.

This could mean we'll see Sony Motion Controller/Sphere/Arc/Gem/Wang controls either added to the game in a patch or utilised in one of the forthcoming DLC pack - or it could mean that we're going to see an announcement from Quantic Dream about what's next for the company, with motion controls perhaps tying in.

Heavy Rain is due out next week. Check out the demo to see how it plays for yourself, and read our review to find out why it's something you really should buy..
