NCsoft has revealed images from City of Heroes' upcoming Issue 17: Dark Mirror, showing the long-awaited improved graphics for the game.

After Issue 17, players will have the options to switch on the Ultra mode, hardware permitting. The images below show several before and after shots of Issue 17, which includes the next free expansion for CoH, Dark Mirror.

Fans are also reminded that the next major release for the game, Going Rogue, was made with Ultra mode in mind, and they should expect even greater graphics there.

City of HeroesOn top of the new graphics, Issue 17 will also include the following features:

  • New badges, new missions and new player emotes
  • Epic Archetypes now available at level 20
  • Improvements and additions to Mission Architect
  • Enhancements to UI and game systems

In addition to this news, NCsoft has also announced that anyone who pre-orders Going Rogue will get access to the Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning power sets in March and April. If you splash out on the Going Rogue: Complete Edition, you'll also receive an exclusive item pack that will be available when the game goes live in July. The pack includes:

  • Alpha- and Omega-themed auras
  • Alpha and Omega themed costumed sets
  • Four stance emotes
  • The Shadowy Presence invisibility power
