ChangYou Financials Show Growth


Developer and publisher ChangYou have released their Q4 financials which indicate strong growth for the company.

Moving into the European markets with the their upcoming TLBB, which has just gone into closed beta here in Europe, ChangYou reached a record US$70.7 million in revenues, an increase of 3% quarter-over-quarter and 21% year-over-year according to their financials for 31 December 2009.

The outlook for the European launch of TLBB (aka Dragon Oath in the US) is looking positive as the game now hosts more than 875,000 PCU (Peak Concurrent Users) in China with 50 million accounts having been created in China already. TLBB is now ranked the third most popular MMORPG in the Chinese region. 

ChangYou’s chief executive officer Mr. Tao Wang added:

"In 2009, we executed on our strategies and enhanced our brand value through a successful IPO while experiencing consistent growth in our existing games, investing in and strengthening our game pipeline, and making various advances in game development technologies. Our user-centric development model and commitment to building our business for the long-term have generated record performances and have made ChangYou one of the leaders in China’s online gaming industry."
