THQ Promising Sequels To Successful Franchises

A THQ investor call has revealed that we can expect to see sequels to plenty of popular franchises from 2010 to 2012.

THQ CEO Brian Farrell told investors (thanks to Kotaku) that Red Faction: Guerrilla will apparently see a sequel in fiscal 2011, which will end 31 March 2011. We'll apparently have "robust online gameplay," and it'll be shown off at E3.

Saints Row 2The forthcoming Homefront - a game based around a South Korean invasion of the USA, and a pseudo-sequel to Frontlines: Fuel of War - is also due in fiscal 2011.

Then there's the inevitable Darksiders sequel which, happily, is due during fiscal 2012 - that's April 2011 to March 2012.

We're promised a Saints Row sequel, too, which might well be the Secret Project X that Saints Row developer Volition is reportedly working on, although it's also possible that might be the Red Faction sequel instead.

Finally, and perhaps most surprisingly, is the mention of a De Blob sequel, which will doubtless please those who picked up the rather special Wii title.

Anything else? Well, according to IGN, there's a third "major core game" scheduled for fiscal 2012 - Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.

It seems like a good couple of years coming up for THQ; the sequels mentioned are all to games that were - at the very least - enjoyable. Roll on 2012.
